大学の情報教育に用いる実習端末室は、大規模になればなる程その端末のOS更新がセキュリティ向上の為に重要であるが、作業が繁雑なため疎かになりがちである。LinuxやWindowsの更新が高速に自動で行えるGPLソフトウェアベースのシステムを開発したので、熊本大学の920台の端末に対する実運用の様子も交え報告する。It is important for security but time-consuming to update all the OS's of the terminal PC's in large computer rooms for educational purposes. They are likely to be left un-updated for a long time. Development of a fast auto-updater of Linux and Windows based on serveral GPL software packages and practical management of OS updating for 920 PC terminals in Kumamoto University using the updater is described.
