Profile

Koji is an assistant professor in business history at the Faculty of Economics, University of Tokyo. Previously he has held postdoctoral positions at King's College London, Edinburgh, St Andrews and Cambridge, and was a recipient of a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellowship between 2012 and 2014. His first monograph, provisionally entitled "Taming Capitalism before its Triumph: Projecting, Public Service and Distrust in Early Modern England" will be published by the Oxford University Press. He has been working on another book project on the South Sea Bubble of 1720. His other projects include an edited volume on the comparative analysis of stereotypes across politics, religion, economy and science in early modern England; and a journal special issue on morality and the market in Europe before the Industrial Revolution.
