Profile

I have keen interest on structure and dynamics, and operational principles of neuronal circuit, and I would like to undersand function of the motor sytem of the brain.

Currently, I am focusing on the motor-related part of the thalamus by combining in vivo electrophysiology and neuroanatomy. In mammalian brain, the motor system consits of the cortico-basal ganglia-thalamocortical loop circuit and cortico-ponto-cerebello-thalamocortical loop circuit. These two major pathways lies next to each other at the level of the thalamus, while transferring computational outcomes from the basal ganglia and cerebellum to the motor cortex. However, it remains poorly understood that how these different motor-related commands are transmitted through synapses to achieve execution and control of voluntary movement, driving me to carry on my research.
