After graduating from Keio University School of Medicine, I have been at the forefront of the fields of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive Medicine, and Clinical Genetics at Keio University for many years. The consistent research goal so far has been to establish medical care to meet the wishes of people who desire the birth of healthy life for the next generation. The inheritance of life in the next generation is not only about biological inheritance, but also focuses on the transmission of diseases in humans to future generations. With the advancement of reproductive medicine, the development of genetic analysis technology has given rise to a human innovation known as preimplantation genetic testing. As a pioneer in this field, I have conducted multidimensional research spanning over 30 years, encompassing technological advancements as well as social and ethical considerations, contributing to the realization of clinical applications for various genetic disorders. Additionally, I aim to create a research platform that fosters sufficient knowledge and experience in addressing the choices and challenges associated with prenatal diagnosis when pregnancy is established.
