Kenta Kasai works for the Institute of Grief Care, Sophia University. He has studied at the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Tokyo, and has received Doctor of Philosophy Degree there in 1998, by his comparative study of Alcoholics Anonymous, an international mutual-support group for the alcoholics. His study focus is on the dialoogue between religion and psychology.  His most recent work is translation of the classical study of the group, Ernest Kurtz, Not-God: A History of Alcoholics Anonymous, Hazelden, 1991.  He also edited Keywords for Religious Studies (Yuhikaku), Keywords on Buddhism and Psychology (Shunjusha). Meditation and Modernity (Shunjusha) and  Religions as Care (Akashi shoten) are also his works.
