房総半島東岸沖で発生する急潮の特性を理解するために,2010年3月からの約1年間,房総半島東岸沖の陸棚上(水深60m)において係留流速観測(設置水深10mと35m)を実施した。流速記録では,岸に沿う北東-南西成分が卓越し,50cm/s以上の強流が9回観測された。このうち8回の強流は,沖を流れる黒潮とは逆向きの南西向流であった。南西向きの強流のうち,3回の強流発生時には,低気圧の通過にともなう北風の連吹と沿岸水位の上昇および水位極大の伝播がみられ,これらの強流が既往の研究で指摘されている風励...
