AIやデータ分析で見逃されやすい，まれな事象や未観測事象を，不確実性のもとで評価・活用する統計的手法を研究しています．特に，低頻度事象を過大評価しない「保守的な推定法」を提案し，自然言語処理や大規模データ分析への応用を進めています．また，教育工学にも研究を展開し，AIの透明性と信頼性の向上を目指しています．
