1920～30年代の日本文学界における西洋音楽受容、日本歌曲と日本語の詩のリズムの問題、英国音楽ルネサンスを代表する作曲家ヒューバート・パリーのオルガン曲といったテーマを経て、19世紀半ばから20世紀前半の英国世俗オルガン演奏会に関する研究で博士号を取得しました。現在、以下のプロジェクトを進めています。
- 三浦環研究、特に海外における受容調査と録音を用いたパフォーマンス・スタディーズ
- 19世紀末の水族館や温室、ショッピング・アーケードといった複合展示型娯楽施設、いわゆる「レジャー・パレス」の音楽文化（クラシック音楽がポピュラー文化として消費され始めるメカニズムの一端を、これらの施設の音楽活動から読み解く試み）
- ミュージカル、 宝塚歌劇にみる音楽劇作法
- 音楽を学ぶ学生のための英語教授法
