ストレス成長感に伴って起こる変化を、獲得的レジリエンスとソーシャル・サポート利用可能性認知の点から検討した。成長感が高いほど、T1・T2ともに獲得的レジリエンスが高く、獲得的なタイプのレジリエンスであっても、それが高いことがストレス後の成長感につながると考えられる。また、サポート利用可能性認知の変化については、成長感の高い人ほどT1・T2ともに、サポート利用可能性を高く認知していた(p.173)。

対人ストレスイベントを通じた成長感について、プロアクティブ・コーピングの影響に焦点を当てて検討した。結果として、ストレッサーを成長の機会として捉えるプロアクティブ・コーピングの得点が高い者、対人過失(自分に非があって相手に迷惑や不快な思いをさせてしまう状況)の経験頻度の多い者は成長感をより高く報告していた(p.126)。
