PURPOSE/AIM<br />

Making a movie presentation requires many decisions on container formats, codecs and softwares. This exhibit aims 1) To review a variety of movies applicable to clinical or academic use, 2) To describe limitations and problems involved in movie presentation, 3) To provide maps and compass for making movies and solutions for predictable troubles.<br />
CONTENT ORGANIZATION<br />

1. Concepts of movie file containers and codecs 2. Features and choices of 1) movie containers, 2) codecs, 3) softwares on Windows PC, 4) containers and codecs on Macintosh (on Osirix software) 3. Compatibilities and limitations on PowerPoint, Osirix and WWW browsers (including Java and FLASH) 4. A decision tree for how to choose a movie containers, codecs and softwares in various situations 5. FAQs (problems and solutions)<br />
SUMMARY<br />
<br />
The major teaching points of this exhibit are: 1) A wide variety of movie containers and codecs with different properties are available for movie production and authoring, 2) Reproducibility of the movie file on PC depends on both movie container format and codecs, which may require additional softwares, 3) The sequential backward cine presentation is feasible only in limited containers / softwares, 4) Optimal combination of a container, codec(s) and a software depends on situations.
