研究テーマ

批判的応用言語学 (Critical Applied Linguistics) の視座から、また言語社会化 (language socialization) を主要な理論的基盤とし、高等教育の場における付加言語としての英語学習と当該言語への/を通じた言語社会化のプロセスの描写と批判的検討を主な研究テーマとしています。

批判的応用言語学、言語社会化、エスノグラフィーの性質を用いた質的事例研究などの学際的・質的アプローチを用いて、以下のような課題に取り組んでいます。

マルチモーダル相互行為と言語学習の関係
言語学習者のアイデンティティとエージェンシー
社会化の機会への（非）参加とアクセスをめぐる問題
留学（study abroad）をはじめとする高等教育文脈における学習と社会化
エスノグラフィーの性質を用いた質的事例研究と複数の分析手法 (マルチモーダル相互行為分析・社会的ネットワーク分析・テーマ分析など) の統合

これらの研究成果を実践に結びつけるため、主にマルチメディア制作を通じたアクセシブルな知識動員 (accessible knowledge mobilization) デジタル教材の開発、コミュニティ形成の取り組みにも携わっています。
