Impact energy absorber of structural member／Crush deformation of various structures is investigated. Experiments under dynamic conditions are performed using drop weight. Finite element computation is also conducted.／Joining of sheet metal at edges／A novel method for joining of sheet edges was investigated. It makes use of the sheared faces under high-speed. For joining, the sheared faces are contacted each other with sliding motion immediately after shearing.／Strain and strain-rate effect of materials／Effect of strain and strain-rate history on yield stress is inspected using split Hopkinson pressurebar impact testing apparatus.
