I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Hiroshima University, where I specialize in conducting kinematic analyses of judo throwing techniques and providing coaching based on my research findings. My primary focus lies in biomechanical research utilizing motion capture systems and force plates, with the aim of bridging the gap between academic research and practical coaching in sports.

 

My research endeavors have been characterized by innovative and unconventional approaches. For instance, I have developed stretch-shortening cycle (SSC) training methods tailored to the unique demands of judo throwing techniques, departing from traditional training methodologies. These efforts have been documented in academic journals both domestically and internationally. Additionally, I have contributed to studies examining the mechanics of judo throwing techniques across various levels of competition, shedding light on areas previously reliant on subjective teaching methods. These findings have also been disseminated in academic publications.

 

Starting from 2023, my dedication has been recognized through selection for the JST Support for Pioneering Research Initiated by the Next Generation at my university. This opportunity has expanded the scope of my research, leading me to explore kinematic aspects of judo for individuals with visual impairments. This research not only aims to enhance competitiveness but also prioritizes the safety of visually impaired judo practitioners. Concurrently, I am actively involved in coaching university judo athletes as part of the university judo club, where I integrate insights from my research into coaching methodologies, thus contributing to the athletes' competitive performance.
