The purpose of this paper is proving the word "Gwisoon" frequently used in South Korea. Why does this word appear and when did it start. Until today, South Korea has unconsciously used "Gwisoon" as a verb for North Korean people who came to South. Especially, South Korean regards this word as the submission from North to South Korea. And South Korean people recognise the "Gwisoon" was born by the outbreak of the Korean War or starting the accepting policy on North Korean defectors like the "wolnam-gwisoonja" policy. But in fact, the "Gwisoon" has already shown since the "liberated Korea" age. In other words, the situation of divided Korean peninsula itself was the starting point rather than the breakout of the Korean War or starting the policy. And then, South Korean society was confused by political situation like "Right-left Ideology confrontation". So, it is possible to conjecture that the appearance of the "Gwisoon" was connected with this political situation. Nevertheless, the preceding researches are insufficient. So, this paper postulates that confused South Korean political situation and a struggle for a political initiative were ultimately associated with the appearance of the "Gwisoon".
