TANAKA Masataka is an associate professor of Cultural Anthropology and Sociology in Otani University, engaged in research in Benin, Togo and Senegal. His interest include the correlation of Religion, Politics and Media after the Democratic Transition in West Africa. In his Ph.D.(1996-2002) he has researched how the political, economic and social change influenced people’s belief (and practice) of traditional religion on a basis of Witchcraft and Modernity discussion and fetishism theory. Later on, he is engaged in research on people’s voice and publicness through the media programs, particularly Call In Radio Show.
