Profile

I am conducting mathematics educational research in Japan and Zambia. In Zambia, I have been interviewing small children on number recognitions in collaboration with local people in/out of school settings. In Japan, for the couple of years, I have been engaged in childhood mathematics education and am member of a curriculum development for the level, called MTPT project. My research interest is numbers in mathematics and cultural issues in mathematics education, including family maths, minority children’s understanding with their social and cultural setting and so on.
