Satoru Nakamura, Ph.D, is an assistant professor at the department of Historiographical Institute of the University of Tokyo. His main research interest is development and utilization of digital archives.
He is promoting the development of digital archives of academic research resources. Especially, he played a central role in the digitization and disclosure of the technical documents left by Yuzuru Hiraga who was the president of Tokyo Imperial University and the vice-admiral in the shipbuilding division of the Imperial Japanese Navy. In addition, he is currently engaged in developing digital archives of various materials of the University of Tokyo Library.
He also aims to contribute to the research development in Digital Humanities by utilizing digital archives and international standards such as IIIF, TEI and LOD.
