Numerous locations in Japan are potentially prone to slope failure. To deal with slope failure, it is crucial to establish a measurement technology that can quickly provide necessary data for adopting effective measures. In this study, the method of measuring slope displacements using a radio wave is explored and its validity examined. The use of a radio wave has lots of advantages : to allow the extensive area-wide tracking of three dimensional deformations in real-time, and to allow remote measurements with high accuracies and precisions. We plan to enhance the practicality of this method by offering more slope monitoring application examples.
