A set of laboratory experiments of surface elevation, water velocity, void fraction and bubble diameter distribution were conducted for regular wave breaking on a slope with different scales. A field observation was also conducted on a plane beach to compare with the laboratory data. The weak relationship between void fraction and turbulence energy was found both the laboratory and field data.
