I obtained my Ph.D. in Structural Engineering at Sapienza University of Rome (Italy) in 2014, then I was post-doctoral researcher at University of Surrey (UK) and at Tokyo Polytechnic University (Japan) as Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) research fellow (researcher number P15786). In addition to my academic career, I worked in professional firms in Japan and United Kingdom. In Japan I worked in Taisei Corporation (Design of Nuclear Facilities department) and currently I am working in Explosion Research Institute Inc. (Explosion Simulations department).

My multidisciplinary engineering background comprises of Structural Mechanics, Structural Numerical Simulations, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Multiphysics Simulations (e.g. Arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian Simulations), Design and Risk Analysis mainly for explosions and impacts resistant structures and infrastructures. Furthermore, I am proficient in several FEA and CFD software packages as LS-DYNA, ANSYS, CAE Abaqus, NEi Fusion, openFOAM, FEMAP, FLACS, MATLAB.

With my wide and internationally acknowledged engineering expertise, I carry out research on defining analysis and design methods for exceptional loads (e.g. explosions and impacts) on structures and infrastructures to implement in future design guidelines.
