フロリダ大学教職研究科バイリンガル教育専攻にて博士号（カリキュラム・インストラクション）を取得。バイリンガル/マルチリンガル教育という観点から一つの言語にとらわれずに個性を伸ばす教育を目指して研究している。 米国では、TESOL International Association（英語教育の分野で世界最大の学会）の会長を務めたことのある、エスタ・ディヨン教授から6年に渡り薫陶を受けた。 米国以外にも、オーストラリア（語学研修）とメキシコ（教育系NPO）での留学経験がある。
