Haik Chosrowjan received the B.S. degree from the Department of Physics, Yerevan State University, Yerevan, Armenia, in 1987, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Physics, Institute for Optics and Quantum Electronics, Friedrich-Schiller University Jena, Jena, Germany, in 1989 and 1993, respectively. From 1993, he was a post-doctoral fellow at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Engineering Science, Osaka University, Japan. In 1996 he joined the Laser Biochemistry research group at the Institute for Laser Technology (ILT), Osaka, as a researcher. Since 2003, he is an assistant chief researcher at ILT. Since 2018, he is an associate professor at the Osaka University, Institute for Laser Engineering (ILE). His current research interests are focused on ultrafast spectroscopy, light-driven primary phenomena in proteins, and fundamental problems of charge-transfer reactions in condensed matter. He is also interested in the engineering and development of high-power lasers, coherent beam combining (CBC), non-linear optical phenomena, etc.
