This paper describes the effect of the tool material on tool wear and surface roughness in small bull-nose end milling of nickel-titanium alloy. The grooving tests using cemented carbide, cBN, PCD end mills were carried out. The end mill has geometry of a flute with a diameter of 0.5 mm and corner radius of 0.025 mm. A spindle speed was fixed in 20000min^<-1>. A feed per tooth, axial depth of cut were also fixed. As a result, a tool wear of the PCD end mill was smaller than that of the cemented carbide and the cBN end mill. It was found that the PCD end mill is suitable tool material for cutting nickel-titanium alloy.
