Improvement of large intestinal environment by luminacoids such as dietary fibers, oligo saccharides and resistant starch/Increase in large bowel cancer in Japan may have relationship with changes in dietary habits among Japanese. One of these change is an increase in dietary fat especially of animal ofigin and decrease in dietary starchy food. Starchy food contain resistant starch and this may help maintaining large intestinal environment in healthy conditions. We interested in the function of resistant starch in large bowel.
