これまで気象学、大気物理学の教育・研究に携わってきた。主な研究対象領域は、成層圏‐対流圏結合変動と気候、非線型力学とカオス、熱帯域の多階層連結変動、などである。雲粒から地球規模まで、多階層連結で特徴づけられる大気の時間空間変動に興味をもち、高性能コンピュータを用いた数値モデル実験とデータ解析を中心として、現象を記述し理解を深める基礎研究を推進している。(2021/04)
