Social skills are interpersonal techniques for formatting, maintaining and developing interpersonal relationship under socio-cultural context. Cross-cultural social skills for hosts and the effect of the social skills to cross-cultural adaptation of guests were investigated. Experimental learning sessions of cross-cultural social skills for hosts and guests were developed as psycho-educational session.
1. Behavior differences about communication affect to cross-cultural adaptation of hosts more than cognitive differences about individualism-collectivism.
2. Interpersonal relationship between hosts and gests were investigated by interview survey.
3. Social skills by Japanese hosts were investigated by interview survey.
4. Social skills for American hosts were investigated by interview survey.
5. Experimental session of cross-cultural social skills learning was developed for hosts. They tried role plays whose task situations focused cross-cultural conflicts.
6. Social skills learning session for guests were blushed up.
7. AUC-GS learning model was proposed for cross-cultural learning as a conceptual framework for the session.
