This paper proposes a new SMC method based on model predictive algorithm for the slip suppression control of EVs. The proposed method focuses on improving the traveling performance and the low energy consumption of EVs by controlling the wheel slip ratio. In this paper, the extended SMC method introducing the integral term with gain, where the integral gain is found by solving optimal control problem, is proposed to improve the control performance. The simulation shows the effective of the porposed method.
