Jan, 2020 - Jan, 2020日本サッカー協会のシンボルである「三足烏」。これを発案したのは、東京高等師範学校・東京文理科大学（現：筑波大学）の教授であった内野台嶺（1884-1953）と東京美術学校（現：東京藝術大学）を卒業した彫刻家の日名子実三（1892-1945）らであった。内野は、漢文学を専門とし、大日本蹴球協会（現：日本サッッカー協会）の初代理事の一人を務めた。彼らは内野の先輩であり、日本のサッカー普及に尽力した中村覚之助（1878-1906）の出身地であった熊野のシンボル「八咫烏」に着想を得て、「三足烏」をデザインしたと言われている。このように、日本サッカーの歴史には、現在の筑波大学と東京藝術大学が関わっている。2020年夏には1964年以来となるオリンピックが開催される。本シンポジウムでは、このオリンピックを見据えて、サッカーとアートのコラボレーションの歴史を振り返る。
