Vice President of Shizuoka Graduate University of Public Health, and also a Special Research Professor & Professor of Emeritus of Hamamatsu University School of Medicine, where having served as a professor of the Department of Medical Physiology since 2001 till 2021.
Received his Doctor of Medical Science from Hamamatsu University School of Medicine in Japan, and served as a post-doctoral fellow at University of Notre Dame (USA), and as a visiting scientist for two esteemed laboratories in Sweden and Denmark sponsored by the Japanese government.
Fibrinolysis is the main working field and having focused on the spatio-temporal regulation of fibrinolysis. Having authored and/or reviewed more than 240 medical peer-reviewed articles and publications, and currently serving as a council member of the International Society of Fibrinolysis and Proteolysis, the chair of SSC fibrinolysis subcommittee of ISTH, and also an associate editor of Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis.
