In this study, an investigative survey was carried out on scenery favored by users of the Takamatsuzuka area of Asuka Historical National Government Park to understand the characteristics of scenic view points and objects of view, as well as the effects of greenery on favored scenery. The results showed that regarding the effects of landforms, the landscape in the ridge line on the slope of the mountain top or the base of the valley are felt open and wide. Also the landscape to look up in the slope of the wall created a feeling of being surrounded by green. As for the effects of greenery, low density existing woods served as a frame for favored scenery, and had effects in landscaping greenery ; middle- to high density existing woods served by themselves as the main portion of favored scenery, and created both a feeling of space and that of being surrounded by green, as well as a landscape where green was multilayered, as if it extended deep into the mountain. The scenic view points favored by users were the ridge line on the slope of the mountain top, the slope of the wall in the upper valley, the base of the valley, the fork in the park path, the boundary division of the land use zone, and the boundary of the study area.
