1961年9月10日生まれ。1991年3月早稲田大学大学院理工学研究科博士課程修了。1990年4月同大学理工学部助手属任。1992年4月武蔵工業大学機械工学科専任講師，1998年4月同大学機械システム工学科助教授、2004年同教授、現在に到る。学科主任教授（2009-2016）を経て、現在専攻主任（2017-）。工学博士。1999年4月－2000年3月英国サザンプトン大学客員研究員。主として有機高分子材料の高電界特性，特に空間電荷分布測定の研究に従事。1990年電気学会論文発表賞、2010年電気学会論文賞受賞。2013年IEC1906賞受賞。2018年Liu Ziyu 記念講演賞受賞。同年、IEEE Caixin Sun and Stan Grzybowski Lifetime Achievement賞受賞。電気学会、放電学会、日本設計工学会、IEEE, IEC, CIGRE会員。電気学会基礎・材料共通部門誘電絶縁材料技術委員会委員長（2013-2018）, IEEE DEIS Advisory Committee Member-at-large (2015-2017, 2018-2020), IEC TC 112 WG8 Convener (2015-), IEEE DEIS Japan Chapter Vice chair (2017-), 放電学会副会長（2016-）
