Resonant X-ray emission spectrum (RXES) is calculated for the one-dimensional single-band Hubbard model. The origin of each inelastic scattering peak can be explained as some intra-band or inter-band electron-hole pair excitation processes. However, the intensity of each peak is remarkably influenced by the core-hole potential effect in the intermediate state. In other words, the incident photon energy dependence of each inelastic peak gives direct information on the electron-hole pair excitations involved. Detailed experiments at and near the resonant condition are highly desired in highly-correlated electron systems.
