工学研究科創造工学センターと仙台市教育委員会共催で「こども科学キャンパス」を東北大学オープンキャンパス時に開催している。仙台市内の小学5,6年生を対象としたもので、毎年200名近くの小学生が参加する。大学の先端技術をわかりやすく伝えるとともに、実験や手作りの楽しさも体験できる。
