専門は構造生物学・タンパク質科学。転写関連因子や染色体関連タンパク質のＸ線・中性子結晶構造解析や溶液散乱解析を行い、得られた構造に基づいて機能解析を行っている。加えて、揺らぎの大きい天然変性タンパク質や膜なしオルガネラ（液ー液相分離）の機能解明を目指し、Ｘ線・中性子溶液散乱と分子動力学計算を併用した動的構造解析法の開発も行っている。
