Profile

I have been analyzing English expressions and vocabulary utilized in commercials on TV, radio, and the Internet, as a teaching resource in ESL and cross-cultural studies. My studies have been published as textbooks and theses, which are at present used as teaching and studying materials in many universities in Japan. At the same time, I have collected a variety of commercial pamphlets and fliers which are used to analyze modern Business English expressions in my English-Japanese translation workshops.
The reasons why these alternative teaching materials attract students to the study of English are that the expressions employed in them are contemporary English, up-to-date, and used in every-day conversation. In addition , this material provides an effective and efficient method for English teachers to handle and complete the content within one 90-minute study period.
I intend dedicating myself even more in future to the development of teaching materials for ESL/ESP and cross-cultural education in Japan.
