Observation of heavy electrons in the filled skutterudite PrFe4P12 via the de Haas-van Alphen effect

We have succeeded in observing the de Haas-van Alphen (dHvA) oscillations in the filled skutterudite PrFe4P12. The results predict a large difference in topology of the Fermi surface compared to the reference compound LaFe4P12. The cyclotron effective mass is found to be extraordinarily enhanced with the maximum value of 67m(0). (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
