Dynamic stability of a superconducting generator in the electric power system

This paper presents dynamic stability of a superconducting generator of 200MW class connected to an infinite bus bar through double power transmission line. Details regarding damping ratio, non-damped natural frequency and output power limit of the machine have been investigated. Furthermore, the superconducting generator system with series-connected capacitor in the power transmission-fine has been studied from the viewpoint of stability improvement. This paper also performs dynamic performances dependent upon control systems such as AVR and GOV (Governor).
