The multi-function wind tunnel facility in Kyoto University is one of the most integrated and sophisticated wind tunnels in the world. Research activities are mainly related to wind resistant problems of structures, especially on bridge aerodynamics. Also, this wind tunnel facility is a part of "Multi-Phase Dynamic Testing System" at Kyoto University, which is a global hybrid testing system for the dynamic interaction among fluid, soil, rocks and structures. Then, the wind tunnel tests can be operated in connection with the other facilities through the internet. For example, the behavior of a wind loaded high rise structure under additional load such as water pressure or ground motion can be simulated using this integrated system. Furthermore, expanding this interconnected testing system to the other institutions, this wind tunnel system will definitely turn to be more intelligent and powerful system.
