Superconductivity in M7Re13X (M = W, Mo, X = B, C) compounds

We discovered a series of new superconductors, M7Re13X (M = W, Mo, X = B, C), and discussed their superconducting properties. M7Re13X (M = W, Mo, X = B, C) has a beta-Mn-type (Cubic, P(4)I32) structure. The T-c values are 7.1 K for W7Re13B, 7.3 K for W7Re13C, 8.3K for Mo7Re13B and 8.1 K for Mo7Re13C. The magnetization vs. magnetic field curve showed type-II superconducting behavior. These superconductors can be described as strong coupling regime and Re orbital is mainly responsible for the superconductivity of these compounds. (c) 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
