1)表面波微動アレイ装置を導入し、その有効性を確認するために、広島県三次市のあるため池ダムで検証計測を行った。このため池ダムは谷の出口で作られており、中央部には、ダム上流から下流への放水孔が合るため、土砂ダムにパイプ流がある形となっているので、検証計測に使用した。その結果、ため池ダムの基盤構造まで解明され、放水孔の位置もはっきり微動アレイの断面に現れている。よって、表面波微動アレイ装置の土砂ダム内部構造の探査の有効性が検証できた。2)自然電位測定および1m深地温測定の併用による流動地下水検...

海底地すべりは地震などによって海底斜面で発生し、高速・長距離運動する。海底通信ケーブルが分布している地域を通過すると、これらのケーブルを切断し、通信障害の原因となり、社会に悪影響を与える。「海底地すべり再現実験装置」を開発し、海底地すべりの運動様式やパイプ模型に与える衝撃力を計測した。運動している海底地すべりが混濁流、土石流、そして水でできた三層構造を持ち、極めて低いせん断抵抗で運動することが分かった。また、ケーブル径や運動速度による衝撃力への影響の測定もできた。

中国三峡ダム貯水池において、千将坪地すべりのような再活動地すべりが高速運動した原因に着目し、現地調査及び詳細な土質試験・分析により、すべり面がその付近領域に拡張していくことより、再活動地すべりでも高速運動できる運動機構を解明した.また、樹坪地すべりにおいて、長期観測システムを設立し、水位低下及び降雨による斜面変動への影響を明らかにした.これにより、より計画的に貯水池の水位管理を行わない限り、地すべりが必ず発生する危険性を指摘した.
