Profile

Dr. Kiyotatsu Yamamoto is currently Associate Professor at the University of Tokyo in Landscape Planning and Tourism. He also works part-time as a Senior Researcher, National Museum of Ethnology located in Osaka, Japan. He completed his Ph.D. research with the University of Tokyo, where he specialized in Forest Landscape Planning and Design. He has special research and teaching interest in planning and management in national parks and protected areas, and behavioral psychology of tourists, and eco-based disaster risk reduction. After The Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Disaster in Mar. 11, 2011, he has been tackling reconstruction to create community, to conserve regional resources and to promote tourism along the coasts of Iwate and Aomori prefectures.
