We have all-optically created various quantum degenerate gases of ytterbium (Yb) atoms. The laser spectroscopy of ultra-narrow intercombination transitions1S0-3P0and1S0-3P2has been performed to probe the quantum degenerate gases of Yb atoms. © CLEO Pacific Rim 2007.
