Using a computer, walls rich in expression were designed. Originally, walls were built to give peace to the inhabitants by protecting them from enemies. Safety was realized by secluding oneself from the outside world. Those walls were cold and without expression. I wanted to let in air and light, and asked my students to design a wall that would be breathing with interesting expression, unlike currently existing walls. Using CAD, geometric patterns were broken down and restructured to form a wall, which were different on the inside and out. Each student used a 36-centimeter square panel. When forty panels were put together, each student's intent could be felt in the expressively rich wall. Using the student's CAD designs and cooperating with the company CAM, an industry-university cooperation wall was made.
