超高強度レーザーを材料表面へ照射することで、セラミックス等の機能性材料の改質に関する研究をおこなってい
る。今回、フェムト秒、ピコ秒、ナノ秒とパルス幅のスケールが6桁以上ことなるレーザーをセラミック材料
(Yttria-Stabilized Zirconia)表面へ単発照射した結果、照射スポット径50umよりも広い領域500umにわたり、リング
状の縞模様が形成され、材料表面の構造化が生じることがわかった。この構造化について、実験結果及び輻射流体
シミュレーションによる解析状況の報告をおこなう。

超短パルスレーザーを用いた電子加速は、いかに安定して制御可能な加速器となりうるかが鍵である。2波長レーザーによるビート波プラズマ波励起は、従来の単波長レーザーと比較して、加速電場を外部制御できるという特徴を有するため、加速電子の安定化に寄与することが期待されている。本講演では、2波長レーザーによるプラズマビート波生成の現状について報告する。

レーザーによるプラズマ電子加速は、加速エネルギーの単色化に代表されるように近年著しい発展を見せている。今後は、加速距離をいかにして伸長するかが鍵である。中でも、キャピラリーを使用した方式は、プラズマ導波路の形成によりレーザー光がレーリー長さを超えて伝搬することが可能であるため注目されている。本講演では、PWレーザーを使用したキャピラリー電子加速の実験結果について加速電子と種電子の役割を中心に報告する。
