Apr, 2014 - Apr, 2014一般に、希土類酸化物はR2O3(R:希土類元素)という化学式で表される。ここで希土類イオンは3価を取り不対電子をもたないため、R2O3は一般に透明な絶縁体である。ところが、イットリウム酸化物の薄膜をパルスレーザー堆積法で作製する際に、試料の酸化をできるだけ避けるように還元条件を用いた結果、2価のイットリウムイオンをもつYO薄膜を合成することに成功した。これまで気相のYOのみ報告されていたが、本研究では岩塩構造のYOを合成することができた。イットリウムイオンは1個の4d電子をもつため、Y2O3と異なり、不透明で電気伝導性をもつ。その電気伝導性は、通常の酸化物半導体と同様に、酸素欠損量を変えることで制御することができる。
