核融合炉の設計では,低温の超電導マグネットから始まり高温のダイバータおよび核反応プラズマまで極めて温度範囲が広い.これが10m程度の大きさ内に含まれているため,装置内に大きな温度差がある.さらに,いくつかの機器やプラズマ自身には電流が流れる.その意味で熱電変換(温度差と電流が流れる機器でのエネルギー変換を行う研究)は広い応用範囲があると考えている.ここでは,超伝導マグネットに使うペルチェ電流リード,電力変換器で用いられるパワー半導体への応用(自己冷却素子),熱電ダイバータについて筆者等の最...
