IFIPは情報処理に関する技術や研究の促進を国際規模で推進するための国際組織であり、日本からは情報処理学会がメンバーとなっている。ＩＦＩＰでは情報処理の種々の分野に対応した技術委員会（TC）を設霞しており、各技術委員会が国際会議・ワークショップ等を開催する活動がＩＦＩＰの活動の中心となっている。これまで１２のＴＣが設極され各種の活動を行ってきているが、今回新たにエンタテインメントコンピューティングに関するＴＣの設世が認められ、ＴＣ１４として発足した。本報告ではその経緯等について述べ、情報処理においてエンタテインメントコンピューティングが新しい分野として認知されつつある事を報告したい。IFIP is an international organization whose purpose is to promote the research activity in IT at global level and IPSJ is a formal member of IFIP representing Japan. In IFIP there are several technical committees (TCs) representing various research areas in IT and their activities are the core of IFIP activities. Recently a new TC on Entertainment Computing, called TC14, has been established within IFIP. This means that the entertainment computing has been recognized as an emerging and at the same time a promising research area in IT. In this report the author would introduce the positioning of this new TC.
