The Japan Centre of the International Theatre Institute embarked on the ‘Theatre in Conflict Zones’ project back in 2009. In 2016 three dramatic readings ware performed by Japanese actors: “Madmen and Specialists” of Wole Soyinka (Nigeria), “Ismail at Isabel” of Rody Vera (The Philippines) and “Qabl Al Asaha / Before Dinner” of Yasser Abu Shaqra (Syria). The variety and the diversity of these pieces are in detail described in this article.
