六方晶URhTexXTex (X=Si, Ge)は一軸磁気異方性を持つ強磁性体である。今回、URhTexSiTexの単結晶育成に成功し、基礎物性の測定を行った。同型のURhTexGeTexと比較すると、単位胞体積が異なるにも関わらず磁気転移温度及び秩序モーメントなどがほぼ等しい。また、参照物質としてTh化合物の探索を行ったところ、ThRhTexGeTexは同型で存在するが、ThRhTexSiTexは作成できず、長周期構造を持った類似物質が得られることがわかった。

URhTexXTex(X = Si, Ge)は六方晶LiCoTexPTex型結晶構造をとる強磁性体である。今回、微少単結晶の育成に成功し、その物性の詳細を報告する。両者はいずれも15K付近にキュリー点を持ち、強い1軸異方性を示す。また、電子比熱係数は強磁性状態で60mJ/KTexmolと、かなり増大していることがわかった。

UIrSiは斜方晶TiNiSi型の結晶構造を持つ。先行研究では、結晶場の影響により、80K以下で磁化率がキュリーワイス則から外れ、さらに8K以下で近藤効果による電気抵抗の増大が観測されている。今回、我々は、高純度試料について基礎物性の測定を行うことで、より詳細な情報を得ることを目的として単結晶を育成し、さらに超高真空エレクトロトランスポート法による精製を行った。講演では作製したUIrSiの結晶パラメタ及び、電気抵抗、比熱、磁化率などの測定結果について議論を行う予定である。

反強磁性体URhInTexの物性研究について報告する。dHvA信号が広い角度領域で観測され、おそらく回転楕円体で記述できる小さなフェルミ面が存在することが明らかになった。同型のThRhInTexとはフェルミ面形状が異なり、ウランは単純な4価とは見なせないことを示している。

UTTexAlTex(T:遷移金属)は立方晶CeCrTexAlTex型結晶構造をとる。我々はT=Cr, Ti, Mo, Wについて単結晶育成に成功し、その物性を調べた。これらの物質は全てパウリ常磁性を示し、磁気秩序は持たないことがわかった。このことは、ウランサイトが多数のAlに取り囲まれ、その結果混成が大きく、5f電子が遍歴電子となっていることを意味している。

We study the critical phenomena associated with ferromagnetic transitions in the uranium ferromagnetic superconductors UGeTex and URhGe. The critical phenomena were found to be of the unconventional type. We will discuss its origin.

URhInTexは、正方晶HoCoGaTex型結晶構造をとる。同型の非磁性URhGaTexに比較して20?%以上大きな単位胞体積を持ち、これを反映してUは磁気モーメントを有する。今回、初めてdHvA振動の観測に成功し、フェルミ面の一部を観測した。得られた結果はURhGaTexと大きく異なっており、電子状態の変化を示唆している。

URhInTexは、非磁性の同型URhGaTexに比較して26?%大きな単位胞体積を持ち、U-U間距離も7?%大きい。これを反映して、URhInTexのU 5Tex電子は磁性を持ち、98Kで反強磁性秩序を起こす。常磁性領域の磁化率は温度降下とともに増大し、キュリーワイス則を用いて見積もった有効磁気モーメントはウランの自由イオン程度の値を持つ。しかし、非常に大きなワイス温度(約-400K)や磁化率に現れるブロードな極大は、単純な局在磁性体とは異なる特徴である。

UTexZnTexは重い電子系反強磁性体として古くから知られている。今回、われわれは、UTexZnTexのメタ磁性異常に伴う磁気異方性の変化に着目し、強磁場磁 気トルク測定を行った。高温では、磁気トルクはほぼ磁場Texの2乗に従うが、温度を下げるに従って、特に高磁場側でTexからのずれが顕著になる。この異常は、磁化率が極大を示す特性温度以下で見られることから、他の重い電子系化合物で 見られるメタ磁性と共通の起源を持つと考えられる。

幾何学的フラストレーションを持つ系、希土類化合物で超伝導を発現する系を中心にして、ウラン及びトリウム化合物の新物質探索を行った。これまでに、UTCTex, UTXTex, UTTexAlTex(T=遷移金属)などの系において新物質及び純良単結晶の育成に成功した。講演ではそれらの試料の合成法、及び磁気,比熱などの基礎物性の報告を行う。
