Organic-inorganic polymer hybrids consisting of organic polymers and inorganic materials show unique properties that can not be accomplished with each single material, because organic compounds are dispersed in inorganic matrix at a molecular level. In this research, organic-inorganic polymer hybrids were synthesized by utilizing amphiphilic block copolymer which consists of N,N-dimethylacrylamide having miscibility with both of silica gel and styrene. The obtained polymer hybrids brought about phase separation, because polystyrene segment has little miscibility with silica gel. On the other hand, transparent and homogeneous organic-inorganic polymer hybrids were prepared by utilizing random copolymer having the same composition as block copolymer.
